Did the producers not grasp the irony in the best burgers segment Aug 17th? All three recipes featured, and especially the winning one, were indicative of the reasons Americans are obese and dying of cancer and heart disease, and colon cancer. On your program alone, there are Robin, Joel and your interviewee Star Jones who have been affected by the fats and red meats so prevalent in our diets today. I could not fathom that a mother believes a beef burger filled with bacon and cheese, covered with a sauce made with high fructose corn syrup would be good for her and her children because it had a few onions, classified as vegetables, on it. French fries are, as are any fried foods, full of carcinogens, and yet Emeril was shown shot after shot shoving fries into his mouth. A great program such as yours must be responsible to the Americans whose homes it reaches, especially in health issues, and especially those issues which have affected your own staff. How much better it would have been to feature the best "alternative" burger and bun, safe for all us, and yet tasty.

JUST WANTED TO COMMENT ON THE PIECE DONE BY MRS WOODRUFF AND ROBIN. MY HUSBAND LOST HIS BATTLE WITH LIVER CANCER 7YEARS AGO, BUT WE FOUGHT HARD FOR APPROX 2YRS. HE WAS A FIREMAN, SCOUT LEADER, AND EMT IN OUR TOWN, SO WE HAD TONS OF PEOPLE PULLING FOR US. I TRIED TO REMEMBER EVERY HUG, EVERYTHING THAT WAS DONE FOR US, AND APPRECIATED EVERYTHING SO MUCH, BUT IT WAS EXHAUSTING. I THING THIS SEGMENT WAS VERY ENLIGHTING ON WHAT A PERSON CAN DO FOR FOLKS TO SHOW THEY CARE. ONE THING A GIRL THAT I WORK WITH DID, GAVE ME A 20.OO BILL , AND I WAS RELUNCTANT TO TAKE IT, CAUSE 20.00 IS A LOT TO ME BUT SHE MADE ME PROMISE TO PASS IT ON SOMEDAY. SINCE THEN I HAVE ENCOUNTERED SEVERAL PEOPLE IN OUR SITUATION AND I ALSO WORK AT THE HOSPITAL, AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PASS IT ON. ALL HAVE BEEN RELUNTANT LIKE ME, BUT WE LIVE IN SMALL TOWN AND SOMETIMES OUR PATIENTS HAVE TO BE TRANSFERED, SO I JUST TELL THEM TO TUCK IT AWAY, CAUSE THEY MIGHT NEED A COKE OR SOMETHING. I HAVE BEEN GRATEFUL TO THE GIRL THAT DID THIS FOR ME, AS I ENJOYING BEING ABLE TO PASS IT ON TO THOSE IN A SITUATION, AS I HAVE BEEN THERE. ROBIN BEST WISHES TO YOU AND THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PROGRAM. I WORK FULL TIME SO RARELY GET TO CATCH IT, BUT WHEN I DO I LOVE IT. SUSIE , FROM RICHMOND MO/

I can relay to all those people that they can't get medical help. I don't have any income. I live with a friend and he helps me out. I have Diabetic really bad, high blood pressure, am going thru Menopause,I have hepitaics C, plus depression. I went thru all indgent programs in San Antonio, Tx. since the city I live in they don't have no help and I was denied. And while I was there I saw lot's of people from Mexico especially get help so quick that it makes you sick. What can a USA citizen do to get help?
